Rebekah & Doug’s Home Gets Its Final Touch—And It’s Gorgeous

Dream porch addition

We love it when a project comes full circle—especially when it involves returning to work with past clients. Rebekah and Doug first invited us into their home in 2021, when we helped transform their unfinished basement into a warm and functional living space. This summer, they brought us back with one clear goal: to complete their home the way they always envisioned it. The result is a stunning new porch addition paired with a refreshed exterior that perfectly blends comfort, function, and curb appeal.

A Continued Collaboration

When we first met Rebekah and Doug, they were focused on creating more usable space inside their home. After completing their basement remodel, which included family-friendly features and stylish finishes, they quickly saw the value of designing with intention.

Basement finish with family recreation space

This year, they reached out again—not just to expand their home’s footprint, but to finish what they started and bring cohesion to the entire exterior. It was a joy to return as trusted partners in this next phase of their journey.

The Porch Addition That Checks Every Box

The porch addition was thoughtfully designed as a true extension of the home—somewhere cozy enough for everyday living but spacious enough to entertain with ease. Anchoring the space is a striking oversized fireplace, faced in brick accent tile that adds both texture and character. This wall also serves a practical purpose: it offers privacy from the street-facing side, creating a sense of calm and retreat, even in a suburban setting.

Despite the desire for privacy, the space doesn’t feel closed in. On the contrary, floor-to-ceiling windows line the outer wall, allowing for maximum natural light and an open, airy feeling that connects the porch with the outdoors.

Adjacent to the fireplace, the dining area was designed with hosting in mind. With ample seating and plenty of walk-around room, the layout encourages movement, conversation, and connection. Whether it’s a quiet morning coffee or a lively evening with friends and family, the space adapts easily for everyday use and special occasions alike.

Outdoor Cooking, Elevated

Doug is very passionate about grilling and smoking their family’s favorite foods, so we worked together to give them a setup worthy of their culinary skills. The built-in station features clean-lined cabinetry and counter space, along with sleek pine wrapped hood vents that were cleverly carried through the ceiling. This thoughtful detail not only provides proper ventilation but keeps the overall design modern and cohesive.

Now, cooking outdoors feels just as intentional as cooking inside—and looks just as polished, too.

Modern Details + A Fresh Coat of Paint

To complement the new porch, we refreshed the entire exterior of the home with a brand new paint color: Sherwin Williams Pewter Green. The updated shade brings a sense of freshness and continuity to the whole facade, creating the feeling of a newly completed home.

Matte black iron window accents were added for an extra layer of sophistication, lending the perfect modern edge and tying everything together visually. These finishing touches are small in scale but make a big impact—just the way thoughtful design should.

The Home They Imagined—Finally Realized

For Rebekah and Doug, this wasn’t just about adding square footage—it was about completing their home in a way that reflects how they gather. From the cozy family fireplace and spacious dining area to the smart grilling station and crisp new exterior, every element was designed with their lifestyle in mind.

We’re honored to have helped bring their vision full circle. And even more grateful to be trusted with their home—again.
