Tile comes in all shapes, sizes, and color! There are numerous shades of tile to choose from, and selecting which color to use in your home can be a bit intimidating sometimes. To make it easier, we’ve compiled a list of the top tile colors for you to envision within your home.

We’ve teamed up with MN Tile & Stone to give you a look into the tile trends that are currently in, and what is up-and-coming in home design. This second part of our “Let’s Talk Tile” series will cover tile color to give you inspiration in your next remodeling project.

Among the most popular tile trends this year is the use of blue and green hues. Blue is a calm, clean, and refreshing color. It truly is a timeless color that is one of the most versatile hues to work within any style of home. Inspired by what we see in nature, green is a color that brings liveliness and vitality.

1) Navy

A dark blue or navy tile is a great choice for adding a sense of regalness to your home. When paired with medium or dark wood hues, it creates a sophisticated space. The benefit of using a navy tile is the versatility of metals that can be coupled with it: brass, gold, or silver. In this remodel for Tina and Jason’s office, we used a navy ceramic tile in a hexagonal shape to create an accent fireplace. Using tile in the center of living spaces or rooms establishes a lively conversation area for your home.

2) Light Turquoise

Turquoise is a fine mixture of blue and green and has the ability to instantly open up a room. It is friendly, inviting, and its light shade is a great option for pairing it with other tile patterns. In the kitchen remodel below, the homeowners wanted the tile behind the range to be the focal point, especially since it was the core area of the kitchen. The symmetry of the kitchen allows for a stunning showcase of the duo.

3) Sage Green

Your guests will be green with envy when they see stunning color. Green symbolizes harmony, elegance, and balance through the connection it has with nature and the environment. Sage has unique calming abilities and pairs well with grays and beige. Go with a deeper shade of green like an emerald to create a wow-factor with a luxe feel.

4) Metallic

Last but not least, how about adding a bit of shine to your home? Go with a metallic color to highlight your favorite spaces. We love how these unique tiles catch the light in feature areas like behind a bar or desk. While it may not be as “colorful” as the options above, this style is sure to demand the same attention that a deep color would.
